The Centre for Research and Science

The Centre for Research and Science focuses on qualitative and quantitative methodology and research in health care. The academic staff works on the development of scientific approaches in the fields of health care and their activities revolve around projects, research, publications and expert consultations. The purpose of the Centre for Research and Science, which was founded on 1st July 2013, is to improve scientific and research competencies of the academic staff at the Faculty of Health Sciences. Primarily, the centre focuses on the specialised studies, recognized as systematic reviews with meta-analysis or meta-synthesis, which brings the highest and the most robust level of scientific evidence that helps health care professionals in everyday decision-making process. The centre also works in the field of Evidence-Based Health Care, psychosocial scientific aspects in non-medical health care professions, scientific approaches to the research of motor functions and international nursing terminology. Writing systematic reviews is carried out in cooperation with The Czech Republic (Middle European) Centre for Evidence-Based Health Care: An affiliated centre of The Joanna Briggs Institute.

At present, the Centre for Science and Research maintains european project POST-UP 2.
